Two Major Tips Organising A Home Office

Working From Home During A Pandemic

Working from home can create challenges that need to be overcome from the very start. Here are our top two tips to make it work for you.

1. Designate A Space

If you don’t have a room with a door that shuts the world out so you can work in peace then you are going to have to find a place where you can. Many times we have installed a room divider that shuts out noise and people (especially the kids) in an existing room. It also conceals the home office adding a layer of security (or hides a messy office).

Another great thing about the room divider is when its closed for the day its a great psychological barrier that says to your brain your work is complete and the work day has ended.

2. The Ultimate Solution – A Wall Bed With A Desk

Most Australian homes don’t have the luxury of a home office so another solution is installing a wall bed with a desk. The wall bed can have shelves and cupboards either side of the bed for any office equipment. Besides room dividers we also supply and install wall beds and you can find out more here.

A note on desks. Many office desks we see are way too big for their set purpose when you can get away with a much smaller desk especially if you are using a laptop. With our wall beds the desks are a perfect size and fold underneath the bed when the bed is down. Turn your guest room or your own bedroom into an office during the day and a bedroom at night. This is especially effective when you have a smaller room or live in an apartment.

Creating an effective work space will obviously make you more productive and these are two ways that can help you overcome the challenges of working from home during COVID 19.
